Information Dynamics is a mathematical system based around a single procedure, the Living Algorithm. This algorithm digests data streams to reveal their rates of change, i.e. derivatives. In this way, the process generates the dynamics of information, as the title suggests.
The author noticed multiple patterns of correspondence between the behavior of living system and the mathematics of Information Dynamics. To make sense of these correspondencs, he developed a theory. The theory of Information Dynamics is based around the notion that living systems employ the Living Algorithm to digest information in order to give it meaning. This digested information enables Life to fulfill potentials. In this sense, Info Dynamics is both a mathematical system and a theoretical system regarding living behavior.
Following is a list of Notebooks that provide support for both the mathematics and theory behind Information Dynamics.
1. The Triple Pulse of Attention establishes that there are numerous patterns of correspondence between experimentally verified behavioral reality and the mathematical model provided by the Living Algorithm's digestion process. These include the necessity of sleep, the importance of naps, and the negative impact of interruptions on a productive session. Contemporary science has not produced a mathematical model for any of these behavioral phenomena, and is instead mystified.
2. The Mathematics of Living Systems investigates the mathematical requirements of living systems. Life requires a mathematics that provides uptodate information that is both meaningful and predictive. The articles exhibit how Information Dynamics fulfills these requirements and how standard systems, such as Probability and Physics, are inadequate to the task.
3. Data Stream Dynamics exhibits how the Living Algorithm's method of information digestion generates a system of information dynamics. Physical dynamics and information dynamics share a similar structure with comparable elements. For instance, both systems have velocity, acceleration, force and power. As might be imagined, the 2 systems of dynamics also have some significant differences. In the final article, the Author proposes a plausible theoretical model as to how the dynamics of information might influence the physical world.
4. Attention, the Living Algorithm & Life establishes yet more patterns of correspondence between the Living Algorithm System and Life. These include the power of repetition, Posner's Attention Model, sleepiness and the problem of split attention. More importantly this set of articles employs the insights from prior article streams to establish a theoretical framework for this fresh perspective.
5. Information Quanta is a mathematical notebook that develops the notion of infotons. These are the smallest unit of information that make up the Living Algorithm's digestion process. Employing this fundamental unit, the concepts of information force, power and entropy are more fully developed. In this way, the internal logic of the Pulse of Attention is better understood.
6. Hypersets explores mathematical set theory as it applies to Information Dynamics. Traditional science is founded upon obedient equations, which are in turn rooted in the visual logic of the container. This type of logic assumes that an element is either inside or outside some kind of category box. As such the middle is excluded from the discussion. This type of logic is particularly applicable to Matter. In contrast, InfoDynamics is based in disobedient equations, which are rooted in the auditory logic of information packets. This type of logic includes the excluded middle and is particularly applicable to Life. (Work in Progress)
7. Subatomics, Info Packets & Music proposes the notion that subatomics, such as electrons and photons, are better conceived of as info packets. To achieve this end, we examine the idiosyncracies of the subatomic world. In so doing, it is discovered that at least 3 orthogonal planes are required to define Reality: the atomic, the subatomic, and the living matter of Info Dynamics. These 3 planes have both similarities and distinct differences. The atomic and subatomic worlds are unitary, hence completely predictable. In contrast, living matter is not unitary, hence is only roughly predictable. While the atomic world can be conceived as consisting of particles, the behavior of living matter, like subatomics, is based upon the contextual meaning of info packets.
8. Applications is a repository of smaller Notebooks. The first illustrates more patterns of correspondence between the Living Algorithm System, the mathematical model underlying Information Dynamics, and behavioral reality. These include the attention span behind the 10minute rule, the core concept teaching approach, and a baby's behavior.
The second, Number String Theorems, proves mathematically that the Living Algorithm can digest both nonnumerical and numerical data streams. In other words, the Living Algorithm System can deal with any kind of sustained data stream, even if it is nonquantifiable. This greatly expands the scope of information digestion.
The third is a logical development of why nbbbbbbb the patterns of correspondence, 'forced' certain assumptions. These assumptions are the Core Postulates of the Information Dynamics.
