It has been a long time since I checked in. I have been obsessed w/setting up my website. It has been an overwhelming experience. It has been much more than I expected in all ways.
When starting out I had intended to put up my many creations Š and that is all. But shortly afterward Ken, one of my Tai Chi students (Hand Sparring) requested some of Master NiÕs sayings that I had compiled. Š A light bulb went on Š and the Tai Chi website was born Š complete with the ability to download Master NiÕs sayings and transmissions. Of course I put my painting of him up as well. And the ball was rolling.
An item of note: I didnÕt want to print out my Ni papers to pass out because they are in an unfinished form Š rough collections, which are unworthy of the paper. And I wasnÕt ready to edit them. But on the Internet it is just some electronic code. Those who are interested can print it out Š or not. But it takes the burden off of me to perfect my writings.
My second obsession was my astrology. Again the website is the perfect marketplace for things I already do Š but stuff that is in rough form. Here I learned something else Š primarily that a website, while public, is a good home for a variety of related material. In this case my Astropage will eventually become home for my History of Astrology and my Science related to Astronomy and the planets. In a similar fashion I can delete my philosophical essays from Ma Belle and just include them on the website for those who are interested. Anyway as you can probably tell, my website has become the perfect frame for the variety of projects IÕve engaged in over the last 40 years.
The only real issue is drive and motivation. So far IÕm going strong - but who knows, my attention sometimes drifts abruptly into other projects - leaving debris behind - like an archaeological dig. For instance my Ma Belle papers lay strewn on my desk Š although I havenÕt looked at them in ages - nor do I intend to. Ironically my restaurant writing page on my site has been the least visited of all, while my rough Tai Chi site has been most visited. Of course my Gallery of Paintings has been regularly checked out as well. But I guess words & restaurants donÕt mix so well unless weÕre talking about how to augment taste. Ah well Š Live and learn.
I go to where the attention is. IÕm a whore for the least little bit. Anyway, who know where this will lead. Just recently I was into getting Ma Belle, my restaurant trilogy, published (a fading memory now) and then suddenly onto website construction (the feedback is more immediate Š my cup of tea). WhatÕs next? Who knows? Only time will tell.
