1-27-08B An astrological interlude

At the same time that Jupiter was square my Mars opposition Nodes (associated with my physical breakdown) both Jupiter and Saturn were also sextile my Moon. They were also trine each other around the 21st of January.

So the Moon as women, mother, nurturing health healing – manifested as Laurie, my wife, who saves my mental life and physical vitality thru' the proper diagnosis. It wasn’t the doctors. I had gone for a complete physical in October – complete with myriad blood, poop and urine tests, and they hadn’t found anything. Even the Doctor at the Clinic had resisted until L presented him the proof. It certainly wasn’t me. I had lost all energy to go on.

So another astrological manifestation – as opposed to psychological. My wife really saved me – not just offered moral support – Of course the skeptics can always fall back on coincidence – which I always modify with ‘divine’.

In terms of the General vs. Individual discussion: The general was Jupiter trine Saturn – a strong positive – while Jupiter was in bad shape with my particular – which obviously dominated in this instance. But the general also led my particular to a solution of long-term problems. So in this case the call would be: the particular dominated with an assist from the general.

Re the Sun sign vs. the other planets: Obviously my Sun sign had nothing to do with these events – except in the sense that I was ready for a whole sale change of lifestyle as Uranus was opposite my Saturn and conjunct my Sun, which occurred due to a physical breakdown.

So I guess all the astrological factors played a part - nothing definitive or dominant -just a composite influence - which is why astrology is so difficult, or should I say impossible, to confirm scientifically. Besides they can’t even solve the 3-body problem – but must resort to approximations. But then on the next hand (how many do we have anyway) of what use was the foreknowledge that astrology provided when the details were only known after the fact.

Over and over again – despite a precise understanding of the astrological transits – general and particular – I have been unable to determine the precise nature of the anticipated event. Even in is case I presumed that the influence would manifest psychologically - in terms of depression about work, and then discovered the real, i.e. Lyme,  – but only in the midst of it. So of what use is it if it can't predict the future in any precise fashion?

I imagine it’s like the study of history. Despite our deep understanding of the past – Despite our analysis of cause and effect – Despite our foreknowledge of trends and such – No one could have predicted 9-11 and the Iraqi war. In hindsight it’s easy to see the circumstances that led up to it – but in terms of actual prognostication no one can predict the future – not even the weather men- except maybe a few days in advance. However despite the impossibility of direct prediction of anything other than a few days in the future – we still attempt to identify trends and patterns, which will allow us to be somewhat prepared.
