In a previous talk on the sacred nature of wine we talked about being possessed by the spirit of wine, which was connected to vegetation thru the grape vine. Grape juice by itself does not cause possession by the spirit of vegetation. It takes the alcohol from the grape fermentation to be possessed by the spirit of vine.
Fermentation is a naturally occurring chemical reaction, which occurs when the sugars from fruits or vegetables combine with naturally occurring yeast to produce alcohol and carbon dioxide. The plant takes in water, carbon dioxide, and the nutrients of the soil to produce its fruit with their high sugar content. When combined with yeast this fruit sugar produces alcohol plus carbon dioxide. Thus carbon dioxide goes into the process and is also a byproduct.
Thus the plant takes the water inside and then gives it a carbon molecule, which is turned into alcohol with the help of yeast. This simplistic version is how plants turn water into wine.
This naturally occurring reaction is enhanced during the
wine making process. While most of the alcohol from the fermentation goes into
the wine, there is some residual alcohol remaining in the left over wine junk,
the pomace. This alcohol was considered of such importance that it was
extracted out in the unnatural distillation process, unnatural beca…/%„˜€¢>c‚D€‰Y Ãý‡¼Bˆ«€Ž††‡†“†!€²RZƒ}…ß<‡:ƒ†(‚‚ŸgY™õ€Íƒ‹^‰¦„©ˆ”]̶_…O €û ‚…z™`r‘‰S¡§‰Œª#€Í¬ü“ö€ ŠLˆŸ#€’ „à€•G ":€½ƒM‚‡?,;‚`q"G…¸‡é‹ÝŠj‚’v¢¦€ä{ƒæŠ“'‚9Œ€Œ…"2‘ƒ>Œ”Œê†Ÿ€¯ƒ6‹Ùƒƒ¸†JAˆ™ …o8 ÀF5€žƒÌ›d‚p†, „∄ Àj¢‚‚‡‚8€¢B²‚Õjè€ûI€¤†¹b‚øy€‚z
